Walaa Ahmed of Astoria receives Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine's "Service to Community" award

Walaa Ahmed of Astoria, a member of Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine's master of biomedical sciences (MBS) Class of 2017, received the school's "Service to Community" award at a ceremony May 6.

The Service to Community award is presented to an MBS student who goes above and beyond to serve both the Geisinger Commonwealth and local community. The recipient must have organized, volunteered and participated in community service events throughout the year.
