MaryElise Lynch of Philadelphia receives two awards at May 6 ceremony at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine

MaryElise Lynch of Philadelphia received two awards at a ceremony held May 6 at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (Geisinger Commonwealth). The ceremony was held to recognize the significant achievements of Geisinger Commonwealth's MD Class of 2017.

Dr. Lynch was awarded both the "Service to Community Award for Pre-Clinical Years" and the "Service to Community Award for Clinical Years." First and second year of medical school are considered the pre-clinical years, while third and fourth are the clinical years. The awards are presented to a fourth-year Geisinger Commonwealth medical student who has contributed most to the community during the pre-clinical and clinical years.

Dr. Lynch received her MD degree from Geisinger Commonwealth on May 7.
