2017 Jul 12

Josephine Sinamano of Carrollton and four other members of Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine MBS program, Doylestown campus, attended the Think About the Link Philadelphia Summit held at the Free Library of Philadelphia.

Think About the Link is a multi-year prevention and education campaign by Philadelphia's Hepatitis C Coalition to educate the community, healthcare and public health professionals about the link between hepatitis B, hepatitis C and liver cancer; to reach vulnerable populations for screening and vaccination; and to identify opportunities for improved policy and advocacy efforts in Philadelphia.

Geisinger Commonwealth's Doylestown campus is located at the Baruch S. Blumberg Institute (BSBI). BSBI, formerly the Institute for Hepatitis and Virus Research, is the nation's leading nonprofit research organization dedicated to hepatitis B and liver cancer worldwide. It was established by the Hepatitis B Foundation in 2003 to fulfill its research mission of finding a cure for hepatitis B in our lifetime.
