Jonathan Livezey of Ambler organizes lecture on Alzheimer's disease

Jonathan Livezey of Ambler, a first-year medical student at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, organized an event hosted by the school's Neuroscience/Neurosurgery Interest Group that will take place on Jan. 24. The event, coordinated with the Wilkes-Barre branch of the Alzheimer's Association, will bring Dr. Maya Lichtenstein, a neurologist at the Geisinger Aging Brain Clinic, to the school to give a lecture about the clinical diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease and dementia. Staff from the Wilkes-Barre branch of the Alzheimer's Association will also speak about new Alzheimer's research and their branch's role in supporting patients with Alzheimer's disease and dementia and their families.

Livezey hopes to pursue general surgery as his medical specialty when he graduates from Geisinger Commonwealth in 2021.
